Summary: Following the technical sessions at the 7th Aluminium Two Thousand International World Congress in Bologna, Italy, registered congress delegates were invited to choose among technical tours offered, one of which was the arranged visit to the Profilati S.p.A. plant in Medicina, Italy. The plant produces aluminum extrusions, mainly fenestration and curtain wall profiles sold to the building and construction industry. Article looks at the liquid nitrogen die cooling, continuous aging heat treatment, and the fabrication and surface finishing of extrusions at the plant.
