Summary: Square, extruded aluminum tubes, often employed as light poles, can sometimes bend about two geometric axes simultaneously (biaxial bending) due to pressue from the wind. Flexural tests were performed and an interaction equation evaluated. This article presents the results of these tests, which indicate that the interaction equation is conservative in predicting the strength of the light poles in biaxial bending.
