•    Description:  Novelis is actively working to increase the adoption of aluminum in the automotive industry, with the aim of addressing major trends such as lightweighting and  electrification. This article presents an overview of the Customer Solution Centers being put together in the U.S., China, and Europe with the aim of supporting that goal. The centers provide research and engineering support through the development of generic aluminum prototypes, development of new advanced alloys and joining techniques, and education for automotive OEMs to help them better work with aluminum. Current projects are presented, including body closure panels, hot forming techniques, and an aluminum sheet battery enclosure design that was recently introduced by the company.
