Description: The ExtSTAR™ job quoting module was developed specifically to address the needs of the extrusion industry. It helps to eliminate paper quote requests and associated documents between departments, the tendency for quotes to be pushed to the back burner in the course of performing other day-to-day activities, and the manual labor and potential errors involved in creating entities in the production information system (customers, profiles, parts, price rules, etc.) from accepted quotes. While an early version of the quoting module was shown at ET ’12, this article highlights a more complete version of the product that has been in use since early 2013.
