This document is now housed in the archives of the Air and Space Museum, recognizing the significant role the aluminum industry has played in American history. This article looks at how the Aluminum Association first established the original wrought alloy designation system through its Technical Committee on Product Standards more than 60 years ago and the development of the standards since then.
