• Title: Update on Inert Anodes
• Volume: Vol. 74, No. 1

• Description: When the industrial production of primary aluminum began, the inventors of the Hall-Héroult smelting process already hoped to invent inert anode materials in order to avoid regularly replacing spent carbon anodes. During recent years, scientists have focused their research and development mainly on cermets and alloys as inert anode materials. This review is a continuation of a paper published in Light Metals 2014 (published by TMS) and covers the years 2013-2015.
